Neuro-Rehab & Exercise Therapy
What is Neuro-Rehab & Exercise Therapy?
Rehabilitation at Neu Horizon is built around your story, your goals, and your day-to-day life. We combine osteopathic insight with evidence-informed movement approaches to help restore confidence, strength and mobility — always with a focus on practical steps that last.
Therapies We Use
-
PILATES
Breath-led control for efficient movement
Pilates helps improve trunk control, posture and mobility through controlled, breath-led exercises. We use both mat and equipment-based methods, progressing from supported to loaded patterns as confidence grows alone or replacement for medical care.
-
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING (S&C)
Progressive loading to restore resilience
Strength and conditioning rebuilds tissue tolerance and supports resilience through graded, evidence-based loading. Programs are tailored for rehab through to performance goals, with options designed for home or gym setups.
-
DYNAMIC NEUROMUSCULAR STABILISATION (DNS)
Restoring efficient patterns through breath and posture
DNS uses positions and breathing strategies from early motor development to reset stability and alignment. It helps restore diaphragmatic breathing, reduce compensations, and build a stronger base for movement.
-
THE NEUBIE & THE NEUFIT METHOD
Supporting neuromuscular re-education
The Neubie is a direct-current (DC) neuromuscular stimulation device used with the NeuFit assessment to identify protective neural patterns and support re-training. It can help reduce guarding, improve range, and accelerate motor learning when integrated with exercise progressions.
Our Approach
Every plan starts with listening.
We assess how you move, breathe, and tolerate load, then map out priorities that align with your goals. From there, we:
Assess & Plan — understand your story and build a baseline.
Choose the Right Tools — select from Pilates, S&C, DNS and Neubie depending on what fits you best.
Coach & Progress — sessions are practical, measurable, and leave you knowing what to do next.
Fit Your Life — short, targeted homework options designed for home, gym or no-equipment setups.
Progress is reviewed regularly with clear markers you can see and feel.
This approach may be suitable for people experiencing:
Persistent or recurrent musculoskeletal pain (neck, back, hip, knee, shoulder).
Post-operative or post-immobilisation recovery.
Tendon and overuse presentations.
Return-to-work, sport or performance tune-ups.
Balance, coordination or desk-related movement concerns.
Who It’s For
Improve mobility, posture and confidence in movement.
Restore tissue tolerance, strength and performance.
Encourage efficient breathing and stability patterns.
Reduce compensations that keep pain or stiffness hanging around.
Provide structured, trackable progress over time.
How It Can Help
Your First Visit
Your initial consult (60–75 minutes) includes a full history, assessment of breathing, strength, and movement, plus time to map priorities and goals.
Treatment & Progress
Follow-up sessions (30–60 minutes) are coached and practical. You’ll leave with a clear home program (video or PDF) and steady progressions as confidence builds. Programs are flexible — designed for home, gym, or no-equipment setups — and we adapt them as you grow stronger.
Fees & Rebates
Private Health: Rebates may be available — check your extras cover.
Medicare (CDM): If you have a GP Chronic Disease Management plan, Medicare rebates may apply for allied health sessions.
NDIS: For participants with therapy supports in their plan, funding may be available. Please confirm with your planner or case manager.

FAQ’s
-
No referral is needed — you can book straight in. If you’d like, we can update your GP or other providers so everyone’s on the same page.
-
Anything you’re comfortable moving in works well — gym gear, shorts, or a T-shirt. If we’re lifting or doing gym-style work, runners are handy.
-
It varies. Many people notice small shifts early — more ease, a little less guarding, more confidence. The bigger changes come with steady, consistent practice over time.
-
We always meet you where you’re at. Your program starts at a level you can handle and builds from there, so progress feels safe and achievable.
