iMRS Prime: PEMF, Brainwave & FIR
At Neu Horizon we’ve chosen the iMRS Prime system because it brings three complementary modalities together in one session: low-pulsed PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic fields), brainwave entrainment, and a hybrid Far Infrared (FIR) mat. Below is a plain-English guide to how it works, what you may feel, and how a typical session flows.
What is PEMF—and why “low and gentle” matters
PEMF delivers very low-frequency, pulsed magnetic signals to the body. Four features define a PEMF signal: waveform, frequency, field intensity, and resonance. When these are kept within the body’s natural “biological windows,” the exposure is designed for general wellbeing rather than stimulation that’s too strong or too fast.
The iMRS Prime whole-body mat uses a triple sawtooth waveform across a carrier range roughly 0.5–15 Hz—deliberately within the low, biologically familiar band. This changing, multi-harmonic pattern aims to keep cells responsive while avoiding fatigue.
Field intensities are intentionally very low (microtesla range)—far below imaging devices like MRI—because subtle signaling at the cell membrane is the goal for general use.
What makes iMRS Prime different at a glance
Whole-body mat (triple sawtooth) for broad, low-pulsed exposure.
Local pad & “spot” applicators (square wave) for focused areas.
Exagon FIR Hybrid Mat: adds Far Infrared warmth (approx. 3–14 μm) at the same time as PEMF.
Exagon Brain: light-and-audio brainwave entrainment goggles, with photic (LED), chromatic (colour), and audio components.
Exagon Sense biofeedback: a medical-grade PPG finger sensor to display HRV and SpO₂ and to dynamically fine-tune intensity in real time.
Brainwave entrainment: helping your brain “sync” with calm or focus
The Exagon Brain goggles use gentle, rhythmic light and sound to encourage the brain’s natural frequency-following response, a phenomenon described in EEG research for decades. In simple terms, repeated pulses of light or tone can nudge brainwaves toward target states (e.g., relaxed alpha, restorative theta), which some people find useful for meditation, unwinding, or focus sessions.
This type of entrainment has been documented historically (photic driving, binaural/mononural beats) and explored across relaxation and learning contexts.
The iMRS Prime’s approach combines visual entrainment (LEDs), colour therapy (chromotherapy), and audio—with the visual element often exerting strong effects because of the large visual cortex.
Hybrid Far Infrared (FIR): comfortable warmth with your PEMF
The Exagon FIR applicator we use is a flexible, whole-body mat with an embedded carbon-fibre layer that produces far infrared wavelengths (approx. 3–14 μm) while PEMF runs—so you get soothing warmth and low-pulsed fields at once. Many clients describe the sensation as “floating on a calm lake.”
Biofeedback: sessions that adapt to you (HRV & SpO₂)
Our system can attach a finger PPG sensor (Exagon Sense) to display heart rate variability (HRV) and blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) during a session. HRV is a window into autonomic balance (sympathetic/parasympathetic) and can be useful for tracking stress or recovery over time. With Exagon Sense connected, intensity can auto-adjust based on your real-time HRV pattern.
Afterwards, your session’s HRV data can be exported and read with Kubios HRV software for deeper analysis if you’re tracking trends.
What a typical session looks like
Set-up – You’ll lie on the whole-body mat (or hybrid FIR mat). We select duration (often around 30 minutes) and a low, time-of-day-appropriate program; optionally we add the goggles for brainwave entrainment and the finger sensor for HRV/SpO₂.
During – You simply relax. If using the sensor, the screen shows heart rate, HRV score, SpO₂ and live intensity; the system can adjust gently in response.
After – You can review how the session tracked (and, if you’re monitoring long-term, compare sessions later).
What you may feel
Most people describe:
A spreading warmth (with FIR) and a deeply relaxed, “heavy-limbs” calm during or after.
Clear-headedness when using brainwave entrainment (some prefer this in the day; others like it in the evening to wind down).
Because we keep intensities low and within natural frequency ranges, sessions are designed to be comfortable and non-overstimulating.
Who it can suit
Busy, stressed professionals wanting a predictable unwind
Athletes monitoring recovery with HRV trends
Anyone exploring relaxation, meditation or sleep-supporting routines with structured, time-efficient sessions (often 8–30 minutes)
(General wellness use only; if you have a medical condition, pacemaker/implant, are pregnant, or are unsure, please consult your clinician before booking.)
Why we chose this platform for Neu Horizon
Engineering choices (triple sawtooth whole-body, square-wave locals) aligned with the “less-is-more” philosophy of low-pulsed PEMF.
Modularity: mat + pad/spot + goggles + biofeedback—so we can tailor the experience to your goals.
Hybrid comfort: the Exagon FIR layer provides that welcomed warmth while PEMF runs.
FAQs
Is this a medical treatment?
No. We offer iMRS Prime as a general wellness service. We don’t diagnose, treat or cure conditions, and we avoid therapeutic claims. Please speak with your GP or specialist for medical advice.
Will it fit into a busy week?
Yes—common sessions are 8–30 minutes, with preset programs, so it’s easy to add before/after work or training.
Do I need the goggles?
They’re optional. If you enjoy guided relaxation or meditation, the entrainment component can be a nice addition.
